National Excellence Awards in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health

The aim of the National Excellence Awards in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health is to celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations and to promote quality and excellence in health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The Awards will highlight innovation and leadership and will provide encouragement to all individuals and organisations in their pursuit of excellence.

Ageing awards

The Department of Health and Ageing sponsors a number of awards recognising the efforts the community, local government, media and business undertake in fostering healthy active ageing. Awards sponsored by the Department include:

• Australian of the Year - The Senior Australian of the Year Award.
• Older People Speak Out (OPSO) - National Media and People’s Choice Awards.
• Master Builders Australia - National Lifestyle Housing for Seniors Award.
