Senior Australian of the Year Award

Information and details of finalists and results from the Senior Australian of the Year award.

By showcasing and celebrating the achievements of older Australians, this award encourages Australians to develop more positive attitudes about older people and their contributions. The Senior Australian of the Year Award is managed by the National Australia Day Council.

The 2009 Senior Australian of the Year State and Territory finalists were announced during November at separate ceremonies across the country. The National winner will be announced at a ceremony in Canberra on 25 January 2009. Details of the finalists are at the link below:
