Seasonal flu vaccination for young children can be resumed - Updated advice from the Chief Medical Officer
Continued close monitoring of side effects with this year's seasonal flu vaccine in children under five years of age has shown that the higher than usual occurrence of fever and febrile convulsions appears to be confined to the vaccine Fluvax, manufactured by CSL so parents can now seek advice from their doctor to use other brands on the market if they want their young children vaccinated.

The Australian, Northern Territory, South Australian and Western Australian Governments have agreed to the Terms of Reference for a Central Australian renal study.
The study, funded by the Australian Government, will assess the current issues surrounding the delivery of renal services in Central Australia taking into account stakeholder consultation and activity-based data.

Feedback on potential boundaries for Medicare Locals and Local Hospital Networks
As part of the health reforms, the Australian Government will invest $416.8 million over four years to establish a network of primary health care organisations (Medicare Locals) across Australia. This includes funding to improve access to after hours primary care through Medicare Locals.
